Korean Data Blackout; September 7th - September 16thkdata-blackout is a movement of support for administrators of Korean fansites as well as fans all around the world who work very hard and spend time and money to provide pictures and videos of Korean artists. It’s also a movement to make International fans realize just how much these people provide to their fandom experience and to hopefully help them understand how important it is to follow their rules.
During 10 days, starting on September 7th and ending on September 16th, participating blogs will not share any fantaken data on their blogs, twitters or facebook pages. This blackout was inspired by tm-blackout.
If you are a “fuckyeah” blog or if you post a lot of fantaken data and would like to join, you can send us a message with your url before September 9th and we will add you to the list of participants. Cucumber Reports - Vol. 1
New Girl Group Set to Debut With Lofty Goals
A new girl group has announced that they will debut within the next few weeks. While the exact number of members is not yet clear, the management company has stated that upcoming teasers will reveal all of the members. Despite the fact that not all of the members have been shown yet, the group is already receiving interest for their name and their bold aspirations.
Following in the footsteps of idol groups such as Sistar, Big Star, and Fiestar, the new girl group’s name was announced as “Hipstar”. Through a press release from their management company, Hipstar has stated, “We will work harder than any rookies ever before in order to achieve our ultimate goal, which is to never become popular and remain unknown to the general public forever.”
After several members of the press pointed out that groups that don’t become popular don’t generate much revenue, Hipstar’s management company responded, “They’re not concerned with making lots of money. After all, if they become rich and famous, doesn’t that mean they are automatically sellouts? The Hipstar members want to avoid that fate at all costs.”

Author’s note: I suppose I should make some sort of introduction for this first installment, so here it is. Cucumber Reports is fake K-Pop news that is written solely for laughs. The stories I write here might be inspired by real people and events, but the stories themselves never are, so please don’t take them seriously. It’s the spiritual successor to The Cucumber, which I have been writing for nearly a year for Soshified (and I will continue to do so), which was originally inspired by The Onion, a fake news and satire website. While the original Cucumber focused only on Girls’ Generation, the new Cucumber Reports series will cover all K-Pop artists (as well as variety shows and dramas, if I think of good stories for them). I’ll be publishing Cucumber Reports stories every other week, so I hope you enjoy them!
